Joint Casualty and Compassionate Centre (JCCC) YouTube Film and Mobile Phone App




The Joint Casualty and Compassionate Centre (JCCC) has launched a new mobile app and briefing films to help service personnel and their families access their services.


When families experience incidents at home while loved ones are serving overseas it is very important that everyone is aware of the process in place that can facilitate their immediate return home.

This short Families Brief is to explain the role the JCCC undertakes 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to help families when incidents occur involving service personnel or someone at home.

JSHAO Information Leaflets for Service Personnel and their Dependents Regarding Civilian Housing Options.

The JSHAO is the MOD’s tri-service focal point to provide service personnel and their dependants with civilian housing information for those wishing to move to civilian accommodation at any time in their career, and for those during resettlement to assist with the transition to civilian life.

Personnel currently serving, and their families can attend a Housing Brief in their region which covers affordable home ownership schemes, (including Forces Help to Buy), house purchase, private rental, social housing and homelessness. The brief is delivered by JSHAO staff, and whenever possible an Independent Financial Advisor will also provide advice on guidance on Mortgages, savings, and credit scores etc.JSHAO Briefing Dates 2015

BFPO - Enduring Free Mail Service


In response to feedback received from personnel, the MOD has taken the step to extend its Enduring Families Free Mail Service (EFFMS) from 1 September 2015.
It will allow a further 1,200 personnel serving on joint operations on land, sea, and air to benefit from the opportunity to receive letters and parcels from their family and friends for free.
The EFFMS is delivered by the British Forces Post Office (BFPO) in conjunction with Royal Mail, and allows family and friends to send letters and items roughly the size of a shoe box and weighing up to 2kg from one of the 11,500 post offices throughout the UK to Defence personnel around the world.

These films provide simple instructions to assist customers with everyday household issues that they can try and fix themselves. However, if at any stage a customer feels uncomfortable or unsure with the suggested actions they should contact the Helpdesk on 0800 707 6000 (Option 1) for assistance.
  • Electricity- shows the viewer how to reset the electric trip switch.
  • Radiators- shows the viewer how to bleed a radiator.
  • Boiler- shows the viewer how to reset a boiler.

Once any additional medical needs adaptations have been identified, agreed and approved, CarillionAmey will liaise with you to carry out the necessary work with the minimum of inconvenience to your family.

MOD Extends its Free Mail Service for Defence Personnel
